History
"Les Magnolias" is located in the heart of the picturesque village of Plaisance in the south of Aveyron by the border with the department of Tarn. The 14th century residence has for a long time belonged to the family of the famous French poet, Paul Valéry, and over the last few decades has achieved renown for its outstanding gastronomy.

Dietmar Ley acquired the property in 1999. After almost 3 years of intensive conversion and restoration work, it was finally re-opened in July 2002.

Today, "Les Magnolias" allies the charm of historic buildings with the convenience of ultra-modern technology. As a hotel it has romantic appeal but it is equally popular as a conference base for business events. This business concept is based on the combination of this ambience with the best cuisine of the "great south-west", prepared in full view of the guests and served in different restaurants.
Our stated aim is to make "Les Magnolias" into an internationally-known first-class establishment in Aveyron and Tarn. If there was ever a legend about this place, then it has come back to life again!
